Rabbi Geoffrey W. Dennis: The Encyclopedia of Jewish Myth, Magic and Mysticism
Book review for Wiccan Rede

It is not unusual that the student of Jewish Kabbalah has reservations upon opening a flashy paperback book that states authority on the subject. In this case, however, even the most cynical of readers will be out of words of criticism - it is indeed a comprehensive and very serious collection!

Rabbi Dennis takes the Holy Books ,traditional tomes of Kabbalah and many other sources, and explains their significance in easy-to-understand terminology. He deals with both the original ideology of Judaism and that of the later books on Kabbalah (Sefer Ha-Bahir, Zohar, etc.) with equal ease, discussing topics such as alchemy, reincarnation and witchcraft from a scholarly point of view.

If there is only one book you buy on Kabbalistic topics this year, make sure it's this one!
